It was another wild ride for the Cornhuskers (6-6), who barely made a bowl berth, their first since 2016.

After dropping five of its final six games, Head coach Matt Rhule and Nebraska will try to close out 2024 with some momentum heading into next season.

The Cornhuskers are guided by freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. He threw for 2,595 yards with 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In addition to completing 66.6% of his passes, he hasn’t thrown an interception in the last two games.

Senior receiver Jahmal Banks has tallied 40 receptions for 508 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 12.7 yards per reception. He has reached 50 yards or more five times this season.

Senior receiver Isaiah Neyor has opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl. He tallied 34 receptions for 455 yards and five touchdowns with 13.4 yards per reception.

New offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen has one last chance to impress before the offseason.

Nebraska lost its main running back to the transfer portal as sophomore Dante Dowdell has committed to Kentucky. He hauled 143 carries for 614 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.

Sophomore Emmett Johnson will step into feature back role. He has notched 102 carries for 523 yards and one touchdown.

Turnovers have plagued the Cornhuskers. They are 68th in the nation in turnover margin. Boston College is 22nd in the country in that category, having forced 16 interceptions and seven fumbles.

Nebraska had a top-20 defense, holding opponents to 315.4 yards per game and surrendering just 19.8 points per game. It remains to be seen whether the transfer portal attrition will take its toll.

Defensive coordinator Tony White and Terrance Knighton have moved on. The Cornhuskers also lost a handful of defensive talent, but still have the physicality to get it done.

They are allowing just 105.8 rushing yards per game, which is the 11th-best in the nation.

Senior defensive lineman Ty Robinson has notched 20 solo tackles with six sacks and one forced fumble. Senior Nash Hutmacher has 15 solo tackles two sacks and one forced fumble.

Nebraska has scored 21 or more points once September.
